H.T.Brigham has manufactured quality metal presswork and metal stamping for 60 years, supplying markets in several sectors, including the automotive, construction, medical and gas industries.
Eight months after the firm’s last recruitment drive, which saw staff levels increase by 12% at the beginning of this year, this Coleshill company has received £400,000 of new orders needs to fill several permanent positions in production and engineering, in order to cope with the increasing workload.
One important order is for a deep drawn pressing, which will be introduced on to a leading North American OEM’s automotive platform during 2012. The component design, which replaces a costly and troublesome cast part, has been achieved following eight months of research and development work between H T Brigham and their customer’s design engineers.
Managing Director, Barry Smith, said, ‘We have had an encouraging year, with some significant order wins, and we have had to make considerable investment in our people and plant in order to satisfy this increased demand. ‘We need skilled and enthusiastic individuals to add to our existing team, which will take us forward into a lucrative 2013’.
In October, H T Brigham received a Manufacturing Achievement award for having secured the North American component order. It was presented by Lord Digby Jones at the third annual Made in the Midlands event, which recognises growth, investment and innovation from local manufacturers.
